Legacy Esports has a history of developing talent in the Oceanic scene, demonstrated ably by the promotion of the Genesis 2015 squad into the OPL, and the number of former Legacy tagged players prevalent in other OPL teams.
We take the development of a reserve/challenger series team very seriously and have been going through applications and reviewing the players in the soloQ scene very closely. Representing Legacy is something not taken for granted as we work long and hard to support all the players that bear our tag.
So it is with great pleasure that the results of our search for the 2016 Genesis squad have come to a conclusion!
Announcing Legacy Genesis 2016:
Top: Elliot ‘Skwiggle’ Charters
Jungle: Leo ‘Babip” Romer
Mid: Dean ‘Psyker’ Ross
ADC: Jayem ‘Zammi’ Buckley
Support: Justin ‘Zepar’ Tu
The Genesis players are excited to be onboard, with ADC Zammi stating:
“I am excited to say that I will be playing for Legacy Genesis in 2016, with the chance to sub for the main OPL roster. As I am completely new to the pro oceanic scene, I am looking forward to facing some of the regions’ best.”
Zepar, playing as Support and Shot caller, had this to add:
“I’ll start by saying thank you Legacy for inviting us to be part of such a great organisation and for the journey that we are about to embark on together. We’re extremely happy to have become a part of the Legacy family and hope to make the most of it by making it into OPL while under their guidance.”
The Genesis squad will be scrimming regularly with our main roster as they prepare for the incoming revamped OCS competition. Many of you may remember that members of our previous OCS team were called upon to sub into the OPL tournament and finals, giving them plenty of top level national experience. While possible rule changes will crimp some of this, we fully expect our Genesis 2016 squad to have every opportunity to play and develop, and with the right preparation and application, make their own way into the OPL.
Genesis will be able to take advantage of our expanded coaching department, and the existing organisational stability and management processes. We are planning to support these guys for as far as they are willing to go, and expect the players will be able to succeed to the fullest of their personal expectations.
