As the silly season has now passed we here at Legacy wanted to take a few moments to update you on what is planned before 2016 arrives in full force.

League of Legends

Our league team is seeing a few changes, notably with An ‘Minkywhale’ Trinh stepping down from top lane. Minky is beloved by his fans and an irreplaceable part of the Legacy family, so we are not letting him get too far! Minky is planning on returning to study in 2016, and will be moving to our coaching department to assist with player development and team strategy for both the main roster and the Genesis squad. So our dear friend will still be very close to the action, and you won’t have too far to see him in full action, even in the OPL.

As part of this Legacy has been conducting a search for a new top laner, with trials and interviews occurring over the past month. We have gone through many options and plans, and we are now happy to announce the NEW starting lineup for 2016!

This change required a lot of thought, as we balanced up the required skill levels to perform and succeed at the OPL and international level, but maintain the core team cohesion that has led to our success so far.

This means that our up and coming best and fairest-winning ADC James ‘Tally’ Shute, will be moving to Top, where the plays that wow’ed the crowds at PAX 2014 will be brought back to life.

I am simply looking forward to playing Riven again! (Please no bans!)

So having solved the Top Lane issue, we now have a vacancy in the Bot lane, and Legacy are proud to announce the signing of Calvin ‘yb’ Truong as ADC. Calvin has been a rising and yet highly performing ADC in his tenure at Dire Wolves, and resigned from the organisation to seek possible overseas opportunities. Seeing that the time was not yet right, Calvin is turning his hand once more to the OPL, and we here at Legacy are more than happy to have him on board to complete our roster in 2016.

Coming 3rd last split left me unsatisfied and one of my goals is to win the OPL. With Legacy offering me a spot in their roster, I believe that I will be an essential part of the team that will make Legacy the top oceanic team again. I trust the skill of all the players and know they will become the best in their respective roles and that we’ll be able to make it to the international stage.

Fresh back from Europe the lads did an admirable run at returning to the continent almost immediately, but were pipped by a single point by Team Immunity in the CounterPit Oceanic qualifiers.

What we have established is that Legacy is a recurring and reliable high performer in the oceanic scene, and will be a continued power house team to watch out for in all oceanic tournaments.

From us internally we will be focusing on team success and development in the long term, as we plan to grow our team’s performance, communication and strategy by providing a stable platform for long term growth.

We have our eye on several upcoming tournaments and qualifiers, with the new Minor/Major format coming to life in early 2016.

In Conclusion…

Legacy continues to hold true to its vision of being an organisation by the players, for the players, with a long term aim of leaving the eSports scene a literal legacy of good organisation management, happy players and healthier scenes.
